Eyes are the window to the soul, or so they say, and you certainly don’t want them giving away how tired or old you feel. If you’ve started noticing bags under your eyes, or you’re feeling self-conscious about how tired you look, then tear trough correction could be the right treatment for you.
What is a tear trough?
The skin below our eyes leading to the cheeks is known as the tear trough. This delicate area is particularly prone to the signs of ageing, and as a result of the ageing process or even simple genetics, the hollow below the eye can create eyebags and a tired, aged look.
How does a tear-trough correction treatment work?
By adding volume from the mid-cheek upwards with dermal fillers, we can counteract this sign of ageing and tiredness. Using hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers add volume back to the area, leaving it looking younger, refreshed, and much firmer.
How is tear trough correction delivered?
This treatment is delivered with a needle with hyaluronic acid inserted into the area under the eye and reaching down to the mid-cheek area.
Is tear trough correction painful?
We’ll numb the area being treated first, which will minimise any discomfort during the procedure.
How long does tear trough correction treatment take?
After an initial consultation, where we’ll discuss your medical history and which areas you’d most like to target, the actual treatment should only take up to 30 minutes in the chair.
Is there any downtime after tear trough correction treatment?
There isn’t any downtime, and you should be able to return to your day as normal. However, you might experience some bruising or swelling in the area, and we recommend staying out of direct sunlight and avoiding heavy exercise and alcohol for 24 hours afterwards. We also advise patients not to touch the area that has been treated for 6 hours.
How long do the results from tear trough correction treatment last?
Results from this treatment are usually visible for 6 – 12 months.
